Product news: The Cannondale SuperSix Evo is known to many as a true high-end racer and has a long history in road cycling. Cannondale has now given the SuperSix Evo the name suffix SE and thus given it a slightly more gravel-friendly orientation.
Gravel races are becoming more and more popular and many hobby riders want to be able to really accelerate on easy gravel roads. This is exactly what the new Cannondale SuperSix Evo SE is said to have been made for. The manufacturer promises more comfort, more performance and more speed off the road.
Essentially, three factors were taken into account in order to offer gravel riders a brisk experience. On the one hand, the frame was designed in such a way that it can offer significantly more tire clearance than, for example, the SuperSix Evo road models. Up to 45mm tire width should not be a problem and thus offer maximum control, traction and comfort.
In addition, the so-called Out Front Steering Geometry with shorter chainstays provides additional safety and control as well as more direct handling, even on loose surfaces. This should make steep climbs, technical descents or acceleration much easier.
Last but not least, the new Cannondale SuperSix Evo relies on aerodynamically optimized tube shapes, which should make the bike faster all round and should offer the decisive advantage, especially at higher speeds.
Cannondale SuperSix Evo SE & CX
In addition to the SuperSix Evo SE, there is also the new CX variant for cyclocross use. Both bikes have the same frame and should offer identical performance advantages in order to make the difference in the end.
The Cannondale SuperSix Evo SE comes with a wireless Sram Rival AXS eTap and DT Swiss CR-1600 Spline wheels for 4.699 euros. The SuperSix Evo CX bike comes with a mechanical Sram Force 1 groupset and DT Swiss R470 wheels for 4.199 euros.
