Greyp T5.2 introduced: Smart e-bike for touring and everyday use

July 12, 2021 by the editorial office

E-Performance: Super smart e-bikes have also been developed under the Greyp brand for several years - with the Greyp G12s they made the eHyperbike ready for series production. But now the Greyp T5.2 is another milestone in the direction of the mass e-bike market. A "Fully Connected" e-hardtail that boasts a number of technical refinements.

The e-bike classified as an eSUV is a hardtail e-bike with 29-inch wheels. This is said to bring endurance and comfort. Because if you take a closer look at the equipment list, you can see that it is a real tourer. Thanks to the luggage rack and the two bottle holders, there is enough space for luggage and provisions. The 700Wh battery is also big enough to support extended bike trips.

Greyp T5.2: Features

The equipment list is long, because the eSUV not only boasts mechanically with a RockShox suspension fork, Formula brakes, luggage rack, side stand and much more. Many highlights are also offered electrically. The two cameras with integrated lighting catch the eye at first glance. One camera at the front and one at the rear constantly record what is happening on the road – the recordings are then saved at the touch of a button.

The luggage rack is designed in such a way that Ortlieb side bags can also be mounted without accessories. The rear light is also integrated into the rear camera, so that you can be seen easily even in the dark. There is also a small light on the front camera. In addition, the Greyp T5.2 is also equipped with a Busch Müller lamp, so that you are not only seen, but also turn night into day.

In order to bring the power of the electric drive onto the road, the SRAM Eagle 12-speed cassette always has the right gear ratio. This makes it easy and comfortable to pedal your way up the mountain, but you can also accelerate at speed and beyond the assistance limit of 25 km/h.

Hydraulic disc brakes from Formula are installed on both the front and rear wheels so that you can come to a safe stop again. These can be dosed easily and cleanly and also bite properly in an emergency.

Greyp T5.2: connectivity and drive

If you look at the frame in detail, you can also see a Telekom logo. Thanks to the integrated eSIM, the status and location of the Greyp T5.2 can be queried online at any time. Simply check the battery status remotely or get the latest tour data on your smartphone. This service is even free until December 31, 2025.

It is particularly practical that you can not only use the standard display, but also connect your personal smartphone to the bike at any time. All functions are available through the Greyp app and the content can also be displayed in a personalized way.

An MPF motor serves as the drive, which has been precisely adapted to the requirements of the bike using specially developed firmware. The motor delivers a full 250 watts of maximum power and supports the rider up to 25 km/h, so no complex S-Pedelec approval is required.

A 700 Wh, specially developed battery drives the MPF motor so that there is always enough power "on board". This battery can also be removed or replaced quickly and easily.

Greyp T5.2: Geometry

The geometry is made for the daily commute or even bike trips at the weekend. The comfortable and upright seating position is ideal even on long tours and yet sporty in design. The eSUV is currently available in the sizes medium, large and X-Large and thus covers body heights from 1,63m to 1,97m.
