Giro d'Italia: BikeExchange team vehicle crashes Pieter Serry off the bike

Cycling: A curious and scandalous accident occurred on the sixth stage of the Giro d'Italia. Belgian rider Pieter Serry was thrown off his bike by a BikeExchange team vehicle. Now the corresponding Sport Director has been penalized. And fortunately, Pieter Serry is doing well.

Serry is fine

We have already seen a lot in cycling, but there has never been an action like yesterday live on TV. A team vehicle from the BikeExchange team drove forward on the left-hand lane and overlooked it Pieter Serry (Deceuninck – Quick-Step) and collided with it. The Belgian immediately flew off his bike and landed uncomfortably on the tarmac. After the shock moment he had to recover, but then got back on his bike and finished the sixth stage. At the finish the all clear: Pieter Serry can continue the Giro d'Italia!

Sport director disqualified

Of course, this strange and scandalous scene did not go unnoticed by the jury of the Giro d'Italia. They reacted accordingly. The athletic director Gene Bates is no longer allowed to continue the Tour of Italy. sports director Matthew White, who was a passenger in the car was fined 2.000 Swiss francs.
