The so-called Avip concept from the Swedish company POC has been around for several years now, but it's still relevant and, in our opinion, needed more than ever to improve rider visibility and thus safety. This concept is naturally also reflected in POC's current winter clothing. AVIP stands for Attention, Visibility, Interaction, and Protection, and is designed to improve cyclist safety. Staying warm without sweating or overheating is one of the greatest wishes of cyclists on cold days, because after a sweat-inducing activity you cool down in just a few minutes and then just ride around as a block of ice. This is exactly what the Poc Pro Thermal Jacket was developed for, because with innovative octagonal yarn fibers and a breathable upper material, the jacket offers exceptionally insulating properties and at the same time the best temperature exchange.
The jacket is made from a windproof outer material and has an innovative insulating inner lining. Here, an octagonal pattern of yarn fibers is used to wick heat and moisture away from the body while keeping you dry. Poc winter clothing: Thermal VPDS bib tights
As a counterpart to the POC Pro Thermal Jacket, the Swedish company also offers matching winter cycling pants with integrated padding. These long bib tights provide warmth and protection for the legs and rear. This is a particularly sensitive area on longer rides, as spray attracts the cold and gradually restricts movement. Therefore, a wind- and water-repellent material has been used on the front for protection against the elements. The pants are also cut higher around the waist to offer additional coverage and warmth. A water-repellent material is also used on the rear, as water from the rear wheel often splashes up there. Despite this protection, the material is designed to offer maximum freedom of movement, as nothing is more uncomfortable than feeling restricted on the bike. The pants also feature fully flatlock seams for a comfortable, close fit. The upper body is equipped with highly elastic mesh suspenders.
