Poc Resistance Ultra Collection: Stylish gravel fun

September 28, 2020 by Florian Nowak

Product news: With the new Poc Resistance Ultra collection, the Swedish manufacturer offers a new range of clothing that was specially made for gravel bikers. In addition to the best functionality and a stylish look, the products offer particularly robust and practical features for off-road use.

The Poc Resistance Ultra collection was specially developed for longer bikepacking, gravel or XC tours and consists of a jersey, shorts and a zipper TeE. All products rely on sporty functionality, as well as robust materials and a high level of comfort. In addition, both jerseys and shorts from the Poc Resistance Ultra series offer plenty of storage space if the tour lasts longer or even a multi-day bikepacking adventure is pending.

Poc Gravel Shirts

The two gravel shirts from the Poc Resistance Ultra collection come with a sun protection factor of 50+ and abrasion-resistant Cordura material on the sleeves. For additional protection, Poc uses a PVC-free membrane on the back, which protects against splash water and has water-repellent properties. This feature alone can be very pleasant, especially off-road. Different mesh parts are used for best breathability. Silicone inserts on the inside of the sleeves and waistband ensure a good fit and so that everything stays in place even on a bumpy ride.

In addition, normal jersey without a zip has an integrated waist gaiter, which ensures a good fit even with well-filled pockets. Since gravelling is often equated with exploration tours or longer trips, both tops offer sufficient storage space thanks to back pockets with and without zippers.

For better visibility in difficult light conditions, all garments in the POC Resistance Ultra collection are provided with reflective logos. The jersey and shorts start at €150 each, while the zip-up jersey costs €160. The all-black outfit is equally suitable for women and men and is available in sizes from XS to XXL

Poc Resistance Ultra - The secret: Cordura fabric

The special feature of the Poc gravel clothing lies in the material, because the double-woven nylon fabric is used in critical areas such as shoulders and sleeves and thus offers the best resistance and thus also gives the collection its name. The Cordura fabric prevents abrasions in the event of a fall, as well as skin irritation caused by the friction of backpacks.

Poc Gravel Shorts

The Poc Resistance Ultra Gravel Short is also made of a robust fabric and should offer unrestricted freedom of movement. With silicone inserts at the end, the trousers have a firm fit and do not slip. Regardless of whether you wear a bib underneath or not, a mesh insert on the inner leg ensures good ventilation and pleasant temperature regulation. Since resistance is also a top priority on the shorts, reinforcements made of particularly abrasion-resistant material are used on the rear and should contribute to the longevity of the shorts. The necessary storage space was also thought of here, because there are zip pockets on the legs and waist, which can also be reached quickly while driving.

The Poc Resistance Ultra Gravel Shorts are available for 150 euros. The jerseys are available for 150 euros without and for 160 euros with a zip. The perfect Poc Gravel outfit is rounded off with a helmet and goggles from our own company. We used the Poc Ventral Air Spin and the Poc Aim goggles.
