Product news: The new Orbea Avant, with its hydroformed aluminum frame and endurance geometry, is aimed at relaxed racing cyclists and sporty (re)starters. To cover all needs, the Avant comes with either disc or rim brakes.
With the completely revised Orbea Avant, the Spanish manufacturer particularly wants to appeal to newcomers to road cycling. In order to offer a high-quality driving experience right from the start, a great deal of attention to detail has also been brought to this series. This is not only reflected in the appealing visual features, but also in appealing features such as the internally routed cables, which are already established in the high-end models.
The Orbea Avant is designed to give every athlete the opportunity to tackle any route. The endurance geometry ensures a balanced seating position and, in combination with the frame shape, first-class comfort, which helps to reduce fatigue and save energy. This makes the Orbea Avant the perfect companion for long tours. But the high-quality aluminum layup of the new Orbea Avant with the latest technology ensures high-quality performance, not only for beginners. In order to make the previous aluminum frame stiffer, the shape and strength of the tubes were adjusted according to the loads. Many of the tubes are multi-butted in order to save weight in places that are less heavily loaded.
With a visually appealing design language, the new Orbea Avant comes in line with the high-end carbon frames of the Orca series, which is made possible not least by the smoothly polished weld seams and the hydroformed aluminum frame. This complex treatment of the weld seams is not only for the looks, it also has advantages for the performance of the bike. This makes the most stressed areas of the frame even more resistant. The production of these frames is so time consuming that normally only the hydroformed aluminum frames of the Orbea Oiz and Occam have been produced in this way. Many hours of extra handwork and effort guarantee a first-class bike that impresses both with its looks and its handling.
Thanks to the ICR system, the disc brake version of the new Avant is equipped with fully integrated cable routing, which once again ensures the best looks and performance at the same time. It doesn't matter whether it's mechanical or electronic shifting: all cables, trains and lines run invisibly under the stem through the head tube and into the frame. And all this without additional friction or unpleasant rattling. All Orbea road bikes offer this solution with OC-integrated stems.
In addition to the main frame, the Avant carbon fork has also been redesigned. The design and shape of the fork offers the best possible combination of damping, tire clearance and rigidity. In addition, the Orbea Avant Carbon fork has integrated fender mounts and large tire clearance for more flexibility. Tires up to 35mm wide can be installed here, as on the rear triangle.
