GCA Classic: Races also for athletes without a license

June 10, 2020 by Michael Behringer

GCA classic

Cycling: In times of Corona, eCycling is booming like never before. To ensure that it stays that way afterwards, those involved work hard. As part of the GCA classics, there is now also the opportunity to take part in the races without a license.

GCA classics also for everyone

Everyman races are extremely popular in cycling. eCycling is now taking advantage of this popularity. After the successful GCA League is currently the equally popular series of GCA classic carried out. Here, too, the best professional on the role is sought every Saturday. But in addition to the licensed drivers, this time athletes without a license can also take part in amateur races.

Register, participate & win a jersey

The level without a license is called die "Community Class". Here all participants who do not have an official license compete against each other. In Zwift's so-called private races, there are shared blocks between men and women. Although no official license is required, riders must register with Zwift as usual. They also have to register for the race on the rad-net.de platform. The corresponding point can be found below “Street -> Tenders -> GCA”. For the time being, two more races will probably be held on Saturdays. The routes will be announced on Wednesday before. As an additional incentive, the Federation of German Cyclists is giving away a signed BDR World Cup jersey for the German national team for each race.

BDR Vice President for Competitive Sports, Gunter Schabel:
"We deliberately want to involve the community athletes in these virtual races - the format of which was very well received by the licensed drivers."
