8 May 2020 by the editorial office

Product news: With the Evolution SL and Advanced SL models, Newmen is introducing a total of eight new wheels for mountain bikes. Wheels for enduro and EMTB use

Advanced SL A.30

Going full enduro… with carbon? Driven by the success of aluminum rims in enduro use, Newmen has developed a 30mm carbon rim. The result of this project is an industry-leading weight to durability ratio. As it turned out in the course of the practical test, the new Newmen Advanced SL A.30 is even stable enough for our EWS riders. Equipped with the new hub technology with an extremely quiet Fade freewheel, this not only results in a particularly light and stable wheelset, but also in a very quiet one.

Evolution SL EG30

Newmen fade hubs

The new Newmen Fade hub generation. The development goal was a freewheel that was as quiet as possible with improved reliability in the usual Newmen quality. The result is a completely new development with a large fade freewheel system. Three pawls now work in this instead of the previous two toothed discs. The large diameter of the Fade freewheel reduces the forces that occur during freewheeling and the newly designed tooth profile ensures significantly reduced freewheel noise. The three pawls are very short and wide, which ensures a large and therefore gentle power transmission.

As with the previous hubs, there is more material in the new Fade hubs at the neuralgic points and therefore more safety than with other hubs. All new Fade hubs are approved for E-MTB use without exception. Of course, available with all three freewheel types (Shimano, XD, MicroSpline).

brake mount: center lock / 6-hole
Front hub weight: 100g / 116g
Rear hub weight: 230g / 245g
Color: silver black
Installation dimension front wheel hub: 15 × 110
Installation dimension rear wheel hub: 12 × 148
straight pull: 28 holes
RRP front hub: €125
RRP rear hub: €235
