Spectrum: For 19 years now, the ADFC has been organizing the “Bike to Work” campaign together with the health insurance company AOK. The point is that working people get into the saddle on their way to work on at least 20 days during the campaign period. As a reward, all participants can take part in an exclusive competition with attractive prizes. Since more and more people are working from home in times of the Corona crisis, the AOK and the ADFC have come up with an innovation for this year.
20 days collecting kilometers from the home office
"Many people rediscovered the wheel during the Corona crisis - this is a great development, both for health and for the environment. We want to help ensure that the trend towards bicycle commuting continues and that people have fun doing it. That's why our joint campaign 'Bike to work' is also running in the Corona year. Even those who work at home can join in and experience the team spirit," according to ADFC national manager Burkhard Stork.
Fitness rides also count for the statistics
Due to the Corona crisis, the hands-on campaign will start on June 1st and run until September 30th. Even those who work in the home office can participate this year. For the first time, the campaign also includes fitness rides that you complete outdoors or indoors on the roller. Whether individually or in a team – it doesn't matter. You can already visit the official website of the campaign "Bike to work" register and collect kilometers.
Participate and win
Anyone who reaches the 20-day target and enters their mileage before the official closing date on October 16 will automatically be entered into the competition. In addition to smaller prizes such as high-quality saddles, helmets, bicycle bags and bicycle insurance packages, the main prize is an e-bike worth over 2.000 euros. There are also monthly additional sweepstakes. So it's worth taking part. It is not exactly unlikely that the number of just over 250.000 cyclists from 2019 will be exceeded this year.
