FoxTransfer 2021
The Fox Transfer has been completely redesigned for the 2021 model year. Slimmer, lighter and with a shorter overall length, Fox presents us with their latest model of the Transfer Vario support. According to the manufacturer, the weight of the new Transfer is around 558g, which is around 25g less than that of its predecessor. Also new are the new 1X Lever and the patented seat clamp. The new 1X operating lever is compatible with the Matchmaker and the Shimano I-SPEC EV - the cost for this is €69. Good news for users, as the operating lever retains its price tag but feels generally more premium than its predecessor and is a whopping 33,5% lighter at 34g. Of course, the Fox Transfer for the 2021 model year is also compatible with the existing levers. At the points of criticism of the Fox user was ebenfalls worked, because with the new, patented seat clamp, the stack height of the Fox Transfer has been drastically reduced - ideal for riders with slightly shorter legs.
The Fox Transfer is available in the factory version with a Kashima coating for €429 and the performance version in black anodized for €339 - the only thing that has changed in price is the cheaper version changed, which now only 2costs €0 more. As in the previous year, the Transfer is available with a stroke of 100, 125, 150 and 175mm and in diameters of 30,9mm and 31,6mm. In the variant with 175mm stroke, for example, the overall length has been reduced by 30,6mm and at 100mm it is 48,4mm less for the new models - everything else that is related to the dimensions of the dropper support changed has, you can see a compact summary below. Fox 34 & Float DPX2 : The renewed trail chassis for 2021
As briefly mentioned at the beginning, the suspension duo for trail use around the Fox 34 and the DPX2 also received an update. The Fox 34 is all about one thing: The new Grip2 damping option including VVC (Variable Valve Control) technology, which is known from the Fox 36 and Co. The previous models are still available, but with the Grip2 version, another one is added. The chassis of the 34 Grip2 remains the same. The well-known and equally popular Float Evol air spring acts in the air chamber of the Fox 34 Grip2. Except for the suspension travel, which is limited to 120-140mm, everything else remains the same as with the previous models, such as the choice between 29 inches and 650b. The fork shaft is still tapered and models with 15x110mm Boost and 15x100mm thru-axle are offered as before. A Kabolt screw axle can also be purchased as an option. Depending on the variant, the new Fox 34 Grip2 is priced between €989 and €1299 with a starting weight of 1770g. Factory, Performance Elite, Performance as well as special e-bike models are available. Go to the different versions here.
The almost perfect counterpart to the Fox 34 Grip2 is the Float DPX2017 air shock, which has existed since 2 and is said to bring the best of both worlds - downhill capabilities close to the Float X2 and the lightness of the DPS series. For the product year 2, the Float DPX2021 received some innovations inside, which should further increase the performance on the trails. However, the Dual Piston System and the Evol damper chamber remain. As with the previous model, a remote option is available for the 3-mode platform and the low-speed compression can be adjusted in 10 clicks. The Float DPX2 is available in metric, imperial and trunnion sizes and is priced between €739 and €769, depending on the model. You can find out everything else here.
A good chassis needs to be well adjusted!
