Here you see, how to watch the film There and Away.

There and away: One last bike ride with friends

Friends Hannes, Kiki, Michael, Mareike, Finn and Dominik go on a bike tour together every year. It goes without saying that this tradition will not be canceled this year either. But the fact that Hannes will be there for the last time is a shock for his buddies - especially since they only find out about this during the tour. After that, the mood changes. The feeling changes from easy-going to tense-sad. Because Hannes deliberately chose Ostend as his destination. In Belgium, people suffering from the incurable nervous disease ALS want to take advantage of euthanasia. His friends cannot understand this and try to encourage Hannes to fight. But his decision is clear.

A sad, funny and good German film

Hin und weg came to the cinemas in 2014 and was first broadcast on German free TV in 2016. The film, produced by Florian Gallenberger and Benjamin Herrmann, directed by Christian Zübert and written by Ariane Schröder, was nominated for several awards, not least because of the credible leading actor Florian David Fitz. The film music by Siggi Mueller and Egon Riedel deserves special praise. Together they have ensured that the necessary seriousness of the subject reaches the viewer and at the same time that he can empathize with the protagonists.
