Corona virus: News about Eschborn - Frankfurt, Paris - Roubaix & Flanders

March 18, 2020 by Michael Behringer

Eschborn-FrankfurtCoronavirus

Cycling: The world stands still - also in cycling. The corona virus paralyzes all of Europe. All March races have been canceled by the UCI. Even events for April and May are already being rescheduled.

Races are postponed or cancelled

"Postponed indefinitely" – this is currently the wording of many press releases. Among other things, it was announced in the past few days that after Milan-Sanremo other monuments are affected. The Tour of Flanders, Paris - Roubaix and Liège - Bastogne - Liège will not take place on the scheduled dates. The organizers also have to postpone the Flèche Wallonne, the tours in Yorkshire and in the Basque Country, as well as the German one-day race Eschborn – Frankfurt until further notice.

Claude Rach:
“With this decision, we are making our contribution to slowing down the spread of the coronavirus. We are aware of our social responsibility, because May 1st has been the bicycle holiday for over 50 years. But at the moment, a carefree celebration together is not possible.”

Eschborn-Frankfurt and ŠKODA Velotour canceled on May 1st – Postponement to a later date is being considered
