Track World Cup in Hong Kong: 3x Gold & 3x Silver for Germany

Track cycling: At the World Cup in Hong Kong, the German track cyclists did a good job. With 3x gold and 3x silver, the BDR ranks #2 in the medal table.

3x Gold: Team Pursuit, Madison & Team Sprint

The track cycling world cup for German men and women was extremely successful this weekend. Behind New Zealand - who were able to win one more bronze medal - the BDR occupies second place in the medal table with three gold and three silver medals each.

The men presented themselves particularly well. Roger Kluge won silver in the Omnium ahead of Thery Schir from Switzerland. In Madison he then secured gold alongside Theo Reinhardt. Theo Reinhardt was also first in the team pursuit with his teammates Felix Gross, Leon Rohde and Domenic Weinstein. In the team sprint, Timo Bichler, Stefan Bötticher and Eric Engler just missed out on gold.

The women were also able to contribute two medals at the World Cup in Hong Kong. Emma Hinze finished second in the sprint behind local hero Wai Sze Lee. In the team sprint she won the gold medal together with Pauline Sophie Grabosch in front of China. There is also reason to be happy in the Austrian camp: Verena Eberhardt secured silver in the scratch.

What a way to end the Hong Kong?￰゚ヌᄚ #TissotUCITrackWC, with unpredictable racing that kept coming right down to the line!
