Advent Calendar 2019 #24: Bergamont E-Revox 24 children's E-MTB

24 December 2019 by Michael Faiss

Advent calendar / raffle: With the E-Revox 24, the St.Paulians from Bergamont have had a real children's E-MTB in their program since last year. With the Bosch Active Line Plus motor, including a 400Wh battery and thick Plus tires, nothing stands in the way of extensive off-road tours with mum and dad.

Fast off-road adventures thanks to thick tires

The E-Revox 24 is a real mountain bike with 50mm of travel at the front – an SR Suntour XCR fork is used here. That's a little less than "full-grown" adult bikes, but the 24-inch Plus wheels with Kenda tires offer a lot of grip, safety and comfort even on loose ground. With a frame height of 32cm, the frame is designed to adjust to a certain extent with the saddle height of the body size.

In addition to the Bosch-specific support levels, a Shimano 9-speed group is used, which provides a sufficient range for the offspring. Hydraulic disc brakes, each with two pistons and a 160mm rotor, also from Shimano, ensure the necessary safety and fast braking. The child-friendly cranks are 165mm long and minimize the risk of unpleasant bottoming out.

Appropriately motorized

The Bosch Active Line Plus motor has more than enough power for the youngsters and is also significantly quieter than the Performance CX drive, for example. The external 400Wh battery should also provide sufficient capacity for longer tours, especially because the drive has to do significantly less work here than on an adult bike in view of the low total weight. Since the battery is mounted "old school" on the down tube, it is extremely easy to handle, it can be removed and charged or replaced in a flash. Of course, if you want, you can also conveniently charge the Bergamont E-Revox 24 in the garage or in the bicycle cellar.
