MTB Bundesliga final in Titisee-Neustadt: Showdown in the Black Forest

September 26, 2019 by Andrew Waldera

MTB News: The big showdown is on Saturday! The final of the MTB Bundesliga 2019 is on the program in Titisee-Neustadt - and the constellations in the overall rankings promise tough fights for the last points. Ronja Eibl and Ben Zwiehoff are going into the race as the overall leaders, but nothing has been decided yet. Competitors for the overall victory are Reto Indergand and Matthias Stirnemann in the men's field, while Ronja Eibl has to hold his own against the strong Anne Terpstra in the women's field.

Can Ronja Eibl defend her title?

The constellations in the overall ratings provide a powerful tingle at the last MTB Bundesliga run of the season. Who can be celebrated as the overall winner at the end of the day? Ronja Eibl and Ben Zwiehoff are currently leading the rankings, but there is no shortage of strong competitors. Only two points behind Ben Zwiehoff is the Swiss Reto Indergand in second place, eight points behind Matthias Stirnemann. Ben Zwiehoff is still waiting for his first overall Bundesliga victory and with a win he would have the overall victory. In any case, the man from Essen is very confident about the forthcoming final: "I've never been in such good shape at the end of the season. My sick leave is now having a positive effect. But you can't plan overall victory." It is already clear before the final that Simon Stiebjahn's series will be stopped. The co-organizer of the Singer Forest Cup was able to win the overall ranking five times in a row. Nothing has been decided in the women's field either. Ronja Eibl is leading by a whopping 25 points ahead of Anne Terpstra from the Netherlands, but should she win, the defending champion would have to finish fourth at least.
