Product news: For the 2020 season, Giant has implemented what fans and retailers have long expected and what we also wished for: The Reign is (also) on 29-inch wheels. The trail bike Stance also gets this adult wheel size.
Giant Mountain Bikes 2020: The Giant Reign 2020 in 29 inches
The Reign 29 will be available in five different complete wheel models or the frame kit. With 160mm travel at the front and 146mm at the rear, the travel is a little less than on the 27,5 counterpart. The big-wheeled trail fun will start with the Reign 2 for 2.799 euros. There is a RockShox chassis with Yari fork and Deluxe Select+ damper. A 12-speed NX Eagle from Sram shifts and Shimano's Mt520 with large discs slows down the ride.
The Reign 3.399 SX is available for 29 euros. As usual from Giant, SX stands for use in the bike park, for fun on the home trails, airtime and a lot of shooting. The Fox 36 Performance Elite with Grip2 cartridge at the front is supported by a Fox DHX2 steel spring damper at the rear. A 12-speed NX Eagle is more than sufficient for the area of application. The strong Sram Code brake stops powerfully when needed.

The aluminum top model is the Reign 29 1 for 3.699 euros. There's also a Fox 36 Performance Elite fork with Grip2 cartridge. However, the rear end is controlled by a Fox Float X2 air shock. The GX Eagle provides enough bandwidth and the function is very good. The in-house Giant wheels are also interesting: the rims have an inner width of 30 millimeters and the inner workings of the hubs come from DT Swiss.

The cheaper of the two Reign Advanced Carbon 29ers is called the Reign Advanced Pro 29 1. Here the equipment corresponds to that of the Reign 1, i.e. Fox suspension, Sram gears and brakes as well as the own wheels, the difference lies in the main frame, which is made of carbon here.

Of course, the top model of the Reign 29 series also comes with a carbon chassis. For a sales price of 8.499 euros, the built-in components are of the finest. The Giant TRX carbon wheels match the carbon frame, the carbon fiber rim with an inner width of 30 rotates around a hub with the inner workings of DT Swiss 240S hubs. Braking is also done with a Sram Code, here in the top version RSC. The gears are also based on a top product from Sram, the XO Eagle group. The chassis comes from Fox and with a Kashima coating and factory design, a full hut is also the order of the day here.

Giant mountain bikes 2020: Reign in 27,5 inches remains
The Reign is already a popular and very potent Enduro from Giant. The 27,5 inch model is still available. Enduro riders who prefer small and manoeuvrable wheels can breathe a sigh of relief. The Reign comes in 27,5 with three aluminum models and one carbon version. The carbon bike is available with Fox suspension and Sram GX 12-speed gears for 4.699 euros. The Reign SX starts in aluminum, tailored to the wild youngsters and bike park riders with Shimano Deore 1×9 drive and inexpensive but solid RockShox chassis for 2.699 euros. The aluminum middle class comes with Fox suspension elements and Shimano XT 1×2 gears for 3.199 euros.
Giant mountain bikes 2020: The Stance trail bike – now in 29 inches
The growth spurt at Giant has also affected the wheels of the Stance touring and trail bike. Friends of the voluminous, smaller 27,5+ tires will have to get used to the 2020er handling in 29: more defined, more direct, faster. The area of application has remained the same, the bike is aimed at touring riders and trail bikers who are looking for a solid, not too expensive companion. The Flexpoint rear triangle still offers 120 millimeters of travel and a 130 millimeter fork. The bike gains in sportiness thanks to the large wheels and will be available with two price points.

If you want a telescopic post in your bike, you have to spend 1799 euros for the Stance 1. In return you get a RockShox chassis and a hydraulic Shimano brake.

The entry-level version for only 1499 euros, the Stance 2, comes with a solid Suntour chassis and an SX Eagle 12-speed gear system as well as a simple hydraulic disc brake from Shimano, but unfortunately without a telescopic seat post.
