Ladies' RideLondon: mass crash just before the finish line
The ladies were already active in London yesterday. The winner was determined over 20 rounds in the last event for the time being. Unfortunately, the women's race RideLondon will no longer receive a WorldTour license next year. The race on Saturday was all the more competitive. So there was already a fall at the beginning of the final lap. But this was topped again only a little later in a negative way. Kirsten Wild (WNT – Rotor Pro Cycling) won the sprint, but because she rode a dangerous wave beforehand, the jury disqualified her. Numerous riders fell so that only about 20 professionals crossed the finish line together. After the jury's decision was the victory Lorraine Wiebes (Parkhotel Valkenburg) who actually finished second. Complete the podium Elisa Balsam (Valcar Cyclance Cycling) and Coryn Rivera (Sunweb). Best German was Romy Kasper (Alé Cipollini) in 16th place.
