Product news: Scrapping premium for e-scooters? Metz mecatech makes you safer on the road!

July 23, 2019 by the editorial office

E-Performance: The e-scooter wave is spilling over Germany and it is hard to imagine life without it in almost all major German cities. From curious trying things out to commuting on the so-called last mile. The new e-scooters are trend but also a practical solution. The Metz mecatech moover, built in Germany, is right at the forefront.

But since the new Small Electric Vehicles Ordinance (eKFV), the rules for the trend have been clearly defined. This has a disadvantage for all those who bought their e-scooter before and who does not comply with the current traffic regulations.

The Metz mecatech moover is probably the only e-scooter "made in Germany" that meets the new traffic law requirements.

Metz mecatech moover: What is behind the eKFV

Even before the eKFV came into force, numerous electric scooters from a wide variety of manufacturers were being put on the market in Germany. If these are not approved according to the now valid eKFV, driving is only permitted on private property.
permitted, but prohibited on public roads. So if you drive without an insurance license plate, you risk severe penalties: in addition to a fine of 70 euros, the owner must report a violation of the
Compulsory Insurance Act, which in turn causes costs of up to 550 euros. In addition, every driver is left with the costs incurred in the event of an accident that is their fault. Metz mecatech therefore expressly advises against riding e-scooters without ABE and insurance.

Metz mecatech is now offering the limited special model “scrapping premium” to all e-scooter buyers who no longer have a valid operating license for their vehicle. In exchange for old e-scooter models, the customer receives a "scrap bonus" of 300 euros including VAT.

When buying a new Metz moover, customers hand over their non-StVZO-approved device, including the power supply, to a participating specialist retailer. At the special price of 1.698 euros including VAT, customers will then receive a limited special model in the color "electric blue" with a saving of 300 euros compared to the RRP of 1.998 euros.

You can find a retailer near you at https://www.metz-moover.de/fachhaendlersuche/.
