Clothing: Product news: Oakley Sutro – lifestyle meets sports glasses

29 May 2019 by Florian Nowak

Product news: We already know that Oakley is always good for revolutionary innovations. With the new Oakley Sutro, we want to break new ground again and break down the boundaries between sport and everyday life. The new models should be used both for sporting purposes and as lifestyle models in everyday life.

With the new Oakley Sutro, the aim is to completely redesign and revolutionize the look of traditional sports glasses. Again and again you see athletes who wear their bike or sports glasses in their free time. However, the models are often too specially tailored to the activity and out of place in everyday life.

The Oakley Sutro combines sport and lifestyle.

Inspired by the everyday life of urban cyclists, the close-fitting lens ensures a distinctive and versatile look and protects against wind and weather. In addition, the Prizm lens technology is used in the new Oakley Sutro and is intended to ensure improved vision with clear contours. Thanks to the large Shield glass, there are no disturbing frames or nose pieces in front of the eyes and therefore a clear field of vision. In addition to the high-quality lenses, the O Matter frame material and the Unobtaunium nose pads ensure the best functionality. The frame combines durability and comfort without pinching. The nose pads are designed in such a way that they do not lose their grip even with heavy sweating, but stay in place. Added to this is the light weight of the Oakley Sutro, which at just 31 grams is really not one of the heavyweights.

The Oakley Sutro offers the best vision and an unrestricted field of vision thanks to Prizm Shield glass.
The stable frame material and the nose pads keep the Oakley Sutro in place even on rough ground.
Oakley Sutro Features:

  • Prizm Technology: Prizm lenses are designed to enhance colour, contrast and detail
  • Shield glass: Protect against the elements in a chaotic urban environment. Increased peripheral vision and full protection allow athletes of all levels to control the chaos and find their lane
  • O Matter frame material: Durability and comfort all day long thanks to the lightweight O Matter frame material
  • Unobtaunium Nose Pads: Unobtainium nosepads increase fit with perspiration to help keep goggles securely in place
  • Iconic model: The Special Edition iconic model was designed to emulate the movement and action that inspired the goggles

The Oakley Sutro is available in various colors and combinations in order to adapt discreetly or also conspicuously to the respective outfit and the individual lifestyle.

More than Florian Nowak

Florian Nowak is a professional cyclist at the EuropeTour level and has competed in many international races. At the German championship in 2017, he was the best non-WorldTour professional in 7th place and was therefore able to recommend himself for the Tour de L'Avenir and the World Championships. But he doesn't just feel comfortable on the racing bike, he's also always drawn to off-road terrain. In addition to sport, he works on his second mainstay and has completed his business administration studies at the LMU Munich.
