Evoc Neo 16l: is it the new all-round protector backpack?

Test: We were able to take a first look at the brand new Evoc Neo 16l backpack with its revolutionary Airshield technology at Eurobike 2018. The attached protector unit also aroused great interest there. We had the new member of the Evoc backpack family in an extensive test.

Evoc Neo 16l: Protection 2.0

With the Evoc Neo 16l you can really experience exceptional soft protection with the Airshield System. The protection attached to the outside of the backpack volume guarantees the greatest possible proximity to the thoracic and lumbar spine. A highly elastic nanotech elastomer, which can deform under tension and pressure but then easily returns to its original shape, guarantees the best flexibility, ergonomics and optimal adjustment to the back. In addition, the honeycomb structure with its hexagonal elements optimally distributes the impact energy and also achieves 95 percent impact absorption. This special nanotech elastomer is also insensitive to temperatures from -20°C to +40°C and is therefore ideally suited for summer and winter sports.

Evoc Neo 16l Comfort redefined

Perfect fit, the Airshield adapts perfectly to the contours of the back.

Once the straps and loops have been adjusted to the body, the backpack adapts perfectly to the contours. Thanks to the flexible Airshield with the honeycomb structure, the air can still circulate excellently and you hardly notice the complete contact surface. The light blue elements of the back protector are relatively soft and also have an even more cushioning effect. The position of the backpack on the back is thus "fixed". Nothing slips or rubs. The hip belt is made of a special antibacterial mesh fabric that is not only flexible but also meets hygienic requirements.

Even on long rides, even at high temperatures, we wore the Evoc Neo 16l on our backs almost unnoticed. Due to the large contact surface, the weight of the luggage is distributed evenly over the entire back. The only small anomaly was that the rubber pads of a shirt - which we wore during the test - pulled up a bit while driving. However, this again confirms the "unslip" hold of the Evoc Airshield.

In the event of a crash, the Airshield can be removed by the manufacturer and replaced. So even after a fall you can still enjoy your Evoc Neo 16l backpack for a long time.

Evoc Neo 16l: Well thought-out space confirmed in the test

A 3-liter drinking balser as well as the individual pieces of equipment find their place in the main compartment of the stylish Evocs newcomer, and the goggles are also well stowed away in a specially designed compartment lined with fleece. The tool compartment that is easily accessible from the outside, the two side pockets made of elastic mesh and the integrated helmet holder make the Evoc Neo 16l the perfect companion, even for more demanding freeride tours. On top of that, the Neo 16l has a clip for the water bottle hose on the shoulder strap, as well as an integrated rain cover with partly reflective writing for that extra portion of safety.
