Cycling: Robbert de Greef (Alecto) has passed away. The Dutch professional cyclist was only 27 years old. After a cardiac arrest a month ago, there were complications and a cerebral hemorrhage last night.

Robbert de Greef competed in his last bike race on March 30th. The Dutchman suffered cardiac arrest at the Omloop van de Braakman and was immediately taken to hospital. There, the doctors were able to successfully revive him and put him in an artificial coma. As his team announced on Friday, Robbert de Greef passed away last night. According to Dutch media, he is said to have suffered a brain hemorrhage. Robbert de Greef drove for the Dutch continental team Alecto this season. He previously worked for the pro continental team Roompot. He was able to draw attention to himself this season with his second place at the Ronde van Drenthe.
