Men: Kluge & Reinhard succeed in defending their title in Madison
So it still worked. The BDR can look forward to a gold medal on the last day of the Track Cycling World Championships in Poland. It worked at the Madison Roger Kluge and Theo Reinhardt, to defend their title from last year. With 105 points and three round wins, the success was surprisingly clear. The Germans relegated their neighbors from Denmark to second place (84/3) and bronze went to the Belgians (82/3). Of course, Germany improved significantly in the medal table. With one gold, two silvers and three bronzes, the BDR is fourth at the end of the track cycling world championships behind the Netherlands (6/4/1), the Australians (6/3/1) and Hong Kong (2/0/0) Unfortunately, there shouldn't be any medals for the Swiss and the Austrians in all 20 decisions. The Dutch also dominated in the sprint with a double victory for Harrie Lavreysen ahead of Jeffrey Hoogland.

Ladies: Kirsten Wild misses another gold medal
The last medals in the keirin and in the points race were awarded to the women today. Wai Sze Lee from Hong Kong secured the world title in the keirin after her gold medal in the sprint. She won relatively well ahead of Australian Kaarle McCulloch and Russian Daria Shmeleva. Emma Hinze was eliminated early. Even in the points race, the German-speaking professionals should not be able to intervene in the fight for the medals. Verena Eberhardt from Austria and Andrea Waldis from Switzerland finished 14th and 15th. Kirsten Wild once again presented himself strongly. The Dutch won bronze behind world champion Alexandra Manly from Australia and Lydia Boylan from Ireland. Kirsten Wild secured by far the most sprint points, but not a single lap point.
Congratulations once again to Wai Sze Lee 🇭🇰 for winning the Women's Keirin at #Pruszkow2019 🌈
