While the Dutchman Martijn Budding (Beat Cycling Club) did not let himself be robbed of the overall victory, the Swiss Roland Thalmann (Vorarlberg - Santic) and Colin Stüssi (Vorarlberg - Santic), as well as the German Jonasrutsch (Lotto - Kern-Haus) be happy about winning a ranking jersey.

Tour of Rhodes History: This is where Fabian Cancellara's career began
The Tour of Rhodes has been held again since 2017. The event previously paused for several years. It was always popular with drivers, not only because of the beautiful landscapes. The list of winners proves that it was taken seriously even then. We find the name there twice – in 2001 and 2002 Fabian Cancellara. The successful career of started here when he was just 20 or 21 years old "Spartacus". So it's no wonder that the young drivers from Switzerland are particularly motivated because of this. 2017 won Colin Stussi the resumption of the race. This year it should only be enough for him to finish 18th in the overall standings. But he could still celebrate.
Tour of Rhodes 2019: Strong performance by the Swiss and the Germans
Even if there was no stage win for German-speaking drivers at the end of the 2019 Tour of Rhodes, they still put their stamp on the race. The Swiss Luke Ruegg (Swiss Racing Academy) finished fourth twice and sixth once. The Dutchman secured the overall victory Martin Budding (Beat Cycling Club) in front of the Norwegian Markus Hoelgaard (Uno-X Norwegian Development Team). The stage victories started Dusan Rajovic (Adria Mobile), Herman Dahl (Joker Fuel of Norway) and Martijn Budding (Beat Cycling Club). Instead, German was spoken when honoring the other ratings. The Swiss Roland Thalman (Vorarlberg – Santic) won the points classification in addition to third place in the overall standings. His compatriot and teammate Colin Stussi (Vorarlberg – Santic) was honored with the mountain jersey. The German Jonas slip (Lotto - Kern-Haus) was awarded as the best young rider - also thanks to the support of Velomotion editor Florian Nowak.
Team boss of Lotto - Kern-Haus, Florian Monreal:
“Once again we managed to get the season off to a very positive start. As in the last two years, Rhodes was a good place for us and a confirmation of the efforts from the previous training camp.”
