Track cycling: Since yesterday, track cyclists have been doing their laps again at the Six Day Berlin. In the capital, after day #1, a German duo with Roger Kluge and Theo Reinhardt is in the lead. But seven other teams are also in the clear round. The six-day race was opened by a starting gun from Kristina Vogel.
Roger Kluge & Theo Reinhardt are in the lead
Eight teams secured a round win on the first night of the Berlin Sixdays. The German duo Roger Kluge and Theo Reinhardt are in the lead with 90 points. Among others, Henning Bommel and Kersten Thiele (71 points) from Germany and Andreas Graf and Andreas Müller from Austria (53 points) can be satisfied with their start. Also in the clear round is defending champion Wim Stroetinga from the Netherlands. Together with the Belgian Robbe Ghys he has 66 points. Last year he won the Berlin six-day race with compatriot Yoeri Havik. Actually, Robbe Ghys would have wanted to start with Moreno de Pauw, but last year's runner-up became a happy father a few hours before the start and canceled his participation at short notice.
WHAT A FINISH!
It contains @StreetingaWim who gets his wheel over the line first after that spectacular Madison! Magnificent finale to Day 1!#SixDayBerlin pic.twitter.com/j0Ja8EqFyC

Danes dominate in the omnium, Maximilian Levy the sprint start
In addition to the teams of two, the sprinters and women also started yesterday evening in the Berlin six-day race. At Six Day Berlin last year, Maximilian Levy triumphed in an exciting duel in front of Stefan Bötticher. After Day #1 he is well on his way to defending his title. With 50 points, he is eight ahead of Russia's Nikita Shurshin. For the 31-year-old German, the Six Day Berlin are the highlight of the season. He will miss the World Championships in Pruszkow because his wife is pregnant.
In the women's omnium, the Dane Trine Schmidt was successful ahead of her compatriot Julie Leth. As the best German, Lea Lin Teutenberg is in eighth place with 44 points.
