The Dutchman edged Belgium's Michael Vanthourenhout (Marlux-Bingoal) by 62 seconds after just over 14 minutes. While the German champion Marcel Meisen (Corendon-Circus) was able to convince with 14th place, Wout Van Aert (Cibel-Cebon) disappointed in seventh place. In the women's category, Lucinda Brand (Sunweb) from the Netherlands celebrated her first victory in a cross-country World Cup. Meanwhile, a German in Tom Lindner is giving hope to the juniors.

Marcel Meisen is the best non-BeNeLuxer

At today's cyclocross world cup in Tabor, the riders could look forward to pleasant conditions. The temperatures were cool, but thanks to the frosty night, the pros didn't have to fight their way through the mud. According to the temperatures, the top favorite remained Mathieu van der Poel cool. Already in the second of nine laps, the Dutchman pulled away from the competition and then steadily increased his lead. Tom Lindner provides hope in the German camp

Things went even better for Tom Lindner. In the junior race, the 17-year-old raced behind the two Belgians Witte Meeussen and Thibau Nys sensational in third place. The Belgian also had reason to celebrate Toon Aerts (Telenet-Fidea). Totz fourth behind Michael Vanthourenhout (Marlux Bingoal) and Lars van der Haar (Telenet-Fidea) he was able to extend his lead in the overall World Cup. Wout van aert (Cibel-Cebon) did not have a good day and only finished seventh. Aerts is now 27 points ahead of Van Aert. A Dutch woman also cheered for the women today. In an extremely exciting race, the first six women reached the finish line within 13 seconds. Lucinda Brand referred Anne Marie Worst (Steylaerts-777) and Alice Maria Arzuffi (Steylaerts-777) on your marks.

“It was definitely a very tough race because of the high speed. I think endurance off the road helped me. I used that very well to still have power on the last lap.”
