Spectrum: Magura and Stefan Schlie can look back on a 30-year partnership this year. The long-standing cooperation was not only accompanied by numerous victories, but also by further technological developments. In addition to their involvement in competitive sports and driving technique training, the collaboration between Magura and Stefan Schlie is now aimed at developing forward-looking e-mobility concepts.
Stefan Schlie has been a driver at Magura from the very beginning. His greatest successes include multiple vice world champions, team world champions and German champions in trials. A success story that is truly impressive. Even after his active competitive career, he remained loyal to Magura. He continued to work as a brand ambassador and was also involved in the development of the first MT generation. The enormous wealth of experience of the trials specialist also flowed into the design of the modern Bosch eBike ABS.
“Due to the current eBike trend, more and more people are coming back to cycling. In this group in particular, the new Bosch eBike ABS can effectively minimize rollovers and the front wheel slipping, a frequent cause of accidents” – Stefan Schlie
Magura developed a new CMe brake system specifically for this new technology. An important area of responsibility for Schlie was the determination of the optimal ABS braking performance. As a member of the test staff, he set the "riders best" benchmarks for field simulations that the ABS should achieve as best as possible. But Stefan Schlie is not only active in development, but also as an eMTB driving technique trainer. In special seminars, the professional shows the participants how to handle an e-bike correctly.
"With the help of the eBike ABS, even inexperienced riders can come to a safe stop. The ABS shortens the braking distance enormously and effectively prevents accidents, especially in the event of uncontrolled emergency braking.” – Stefan Schlie
A cooperation that is full of energy even after 30 years: Magura and Stefan Schlie want to continue to explore boundaries and advance technology trends together in the future.
