General: Future Team Jenatec-Breckle: Season finale and review

2 November 2018 by Future Team Jenatec Breckle

By Lena-Fabienne Franke and Domenik Wolf

Now that our season is over and we have a little more time in our well-deserved break from the season, we would like to look back on past sporting highlights.

We started from 11.07. until 15.07. at the German Championships on the concrete track in Dudenhofen. For some of us, this was the clear highlight of the season and therefore important. The competitions already started on Wednesday with the 2000m individual pursuit. Lara Röhricht and Lena-Fabienne Franke competed in the girls in the U17 age group. Lara was able to take 12th place and Lena-Fabienne ended up in 22nd place. In the AK U19 female, Jasmin Müller placed 16th. Finn-Marvin Nixdorf - who has meanwhile ended his sporting career - and Domenik Wolf started for the boys. Finn finished 40th. Domenik provided the first medal for the Future Team Jenatec-Breckle. He set the second-best time in qualifying and was able to compete for the gold medal in the grand final. Although he lost this against the new German champion Benet Metz (RG Hamburg), he was able to win the runner-up title in the 2000m EV.

The next day, the title fights in the disciplines team pursuit and Madison (2ér team driving) took place in the female age groups. In addition, Dennis Kühn started with the sprinters in the qualification for the sprint tournament.

In the AK U17 female our drivers Lara and Lena-Fabienne drove with the state association selection (LV Thüringen) to 4th place. Jasmin Müller was even able to fight for the German championship title with LV Thüringen in the AK U19 female. Domenik Wolf was also able to secure the gold medal with LV Thüringen. In the evening our girls started in the newly added Madison race. They took 6th and 8th place there.

Dennis qualified for the first round, in which he advanced to the quarterfinals. There, however, he had to admit defeat and started the next day in the final for places 5 to 8.

On Friday morning we had the heats for the points race. Lara and Lena-Fabienne qualified for the final and finished 10th and 23rd. Domenik also qualified for the boys' final and finished 21st. Dennis was able to win the "small" final in the sprint tournament and was 5th.

On Saturday it was the turn of the very fast guys in the team sprint. There Dennis and his team were able to take 6th place.

Sunday was the final day of the German championship. Dennis finished 6th in his last event, the Keirin.

This ended our very successful German Championships. It should also be mentioned that together with the juniors m/f with Jannis Peter and Lena-Charlotte Reißner, we won a total of 5 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 2 bronze medals.

But we only had one week to regenerate, because next weekend we were at the start of the German Omnium Championships in Cologne.

An omniums championship consists of several disciplines, which together result in an overall ranking. We did scratch, elimination, speed laps and points races over two days. So a tight program. In the end, Lara was able to take 15th place and Lena-Fabienne 19th place. Domenik finished 17th. The girls also took part in the Madison race, which did not count towards the omnium classification. Lara and Lena-Fabienne finished sixth together.

Now it's time to catch some "air" so that you can start the preparations fresh and rested again.
