Product news: BMC presents their new e-mountain bike. The BMC Trailfox AMP SX combines enduro and e-mountain bike performance in one bike. Whether on rough steep descents or climbs, the Trailfox AMP SX should offer a great all-mountain driving experience. The geometry and damping kinematics support an aggressive driving style and are intended to ensure grip and control.
The APS suspension and frame design were specifically engineered to maximize the Trailfox AMP SX's all-mountain performance. A flat steering angle, four-piston brakes and tires with a reinforced carcass ensure optimum downhill characteristics.
The BMC Trailfox AMP SX - an all-mountain weapon for rough terrain
For the Trailfox AMP SX, the BMC product managers have made the perfect selection of components for every downhill enthusiast. A 170 mm FOX 36 E-MTB suspension fork and four-piston brakes from Magura with 200 mm brake discs should provide the necessary performance and safety in technical terrain. The Renthal Fatbar 35 mm enables precise handling. The 27,5″ Plus downhill tires with higher puncture protection and improved mileage support an aggressive riding style.
Special E-MTB geometry and APS suspension
BMC engineers have specially adapted the Advanced Pivot System (APS) to the Trailfox AMP SX. The coordinated APS kinematics, the placement of the deflections, the leverage and the spring elements in combination with an E-MTB specific damper adjustment give the Trailfox AMP SX its enduro character. The slack steering angle, combined with a long front end, ensures stability. The bottom bracket is slightly higher to prevent the pedals from touching the ground on technical uphill sections. The short chainstays enable agile and manoeuvrable handling. Larger bearings and swing arm pivot points absorb the additional weight of the e-mountain bike and the high torsional rigidity is achieved with a one-piece rear triangle.
BMC Twin Hollow Core technology
The BMC Trailfox AMP SX impresses with the "Twin Hollow-Core Technology" developed in the BMC Impec Lab. This carbon technology is BMC's answer to the challenge of constructing the tube shapes in such a way that they are big enough to hold a battery and stiff enough to compensate for the higher weight of an E-MTB.
BMC Trailfox AMP SX - Integration
A variety of technically individual solutions that make up the Trailfox AMP SX are proof that BMC leaves no stone unturned to get the maximum integration. The drive cover protects the drive unit and creates a seamless transition between the motor and frame. Rear triangle protectors protect the frame and reduce driving noise on rough trails. The battery housing is adapted to the shape of the frame, while integrated speed sensors in the dropout make changing wheels quick and easy.
