General: Kenda Enduro One Series 2018: Zohner and Heim complete the series victory in Aschau

September 17, 2018 by Andrew Waldera

MTB cycling: At the final of the largest German MTB Enduro series in Aschau im Chiemgau, Corinna Zohner and Fabian Heim were able to complete the 2018 series victory. In a wonderful autumn setting, the two riders didn't miss a beat and also made the Enduro One season triumph perfect with the fastest times of the day.

After a Saturday with mixed weather conditions, Sunday brought glorious sunshine with summer-like temperatures. For the season finale of the Enduro One series 2018, the promoter Baboons and the local organizers once again worked hard. Seven stages, four of which are completely new, awaited around 500 drivers from Germany and abroad. The route was also extended to a total of 18 kilometers, with the riders having to overcome 800 meters in altitude. The alpine terrain on the Kampenwand required a lot of skills with steep passages, rocks and roots. The highlight at the end was the final stage from Hohenaschau Castle through the “Hexencauldron” to the finish directly on the festival hall grounds. With Corinna Zohner (BSB Bayreuth) and Fabian Heim (Santa Cruz/TV Bad Orb), two familiar faces stood on the top step of the podium at the end of the day. With their daily victories, the two riders also made the Enduro One win of the season perfect in their classes.
