Product News: The Fulcrum range of wheels is loved and appreciated by professionals and amateurs alike, as any product bearing the red F represents a blend of high performance and extreme reliability. This goes from top to bottom, aluminum or carbon, rim or disc.
Fulcrum engineers are constantly looking for new construction methods, techniques and materials to improve each and every product, now and in the future. This spirit of constant improvement led the staff to rethink certain aspects of the Racing 4, 5 and 6 lineup in order to increase their characteristics even further in all new versions for 2019.
Although a lot has been done on the aesthetics of all three wheels, a lot of effort has gone into making these racing wheels stronger and more durable than ever. Not only do the latest versions of the Racing 4, 5 and 6 look better on a wider range of bikes, but advancements in hub design and spoke selection make wheels that already had a reputation for performance and reliability even more resilient. Completely redesigned flanges, on all three models, with new and thoughtful designs for a perfect spoke head interface ensure improved spoke and hub integrity.
The Racing 4 continues with its versatile medium-depth rim profile, offering an aerodynamic advantage without compromising weight and handling. New are the completely redesigned graphics and finishing, as well as the completely redesigned oversized flange that houses straight spokes with a special spoke head seat for maximum integrity and durability.
The Racing 5, on the other hand, weighs a respectable 1650 grams for the pair and is very versatile, with good handling thanks to its differentiated rim height. The slightly lower front rim provides an advantage in crosswinds, while the higher profile rear rim, which carries more weight and is therefore less prone to wind disturbances, is both more aerodynamic and stiffer for better power transfer. The oversized flange design, which differs slightly from the Racing 4, also perfectly matches the straight pull spokes.
The Racing 6 and its asymmetrical rear wheel rim coupled with an asymmetrical power (the drive train is only on the right side) and transfers the power symmetrically, making every pedal stroke more efficient. The oversized flange, milled to keep weight to a minimum, perfectly matches the J-bend spokes and provides a good spoke angle to keep the wheel as stable and responsive as possible.
In 2019, the racing line is presented in aluminum with a new look and increased durability. The new wheel sets will please the eye more than ever and offer Fulcrum proven performance even longer than before.
