General: Uvex Sports – innovations for the 2019 model year

July 27, 2018 by the editorial office

Product news: Uvex presented their innovations for the 2019 model year at the Eurobike. From an enduro helmet that impresses with a new, seamless design, to new sports glasses that offer the optimal tint for every light and every contrast, to a racing bike helmet that should be safe, light and extremely well ventilated. The company from Fürth is also presenting its first e-bike helmet, which exceeds the new standard for speed pedelecs.

Uvex Quatro Integral

The new Uvex Quatro Integrale is the latest version of the extremely popular Uvex Quatro Pro
and impresses with a new, seamless design and all the features that trail fans want. Including a lower back, built-in ventilation management and a large, adjustable visor.

Uvex Sports

Three shells and seamless construction

Uvex manufactures the Uvex Quatro Integrale in a multi-inmould construction with three shells - an outer shell, an inner shell and a separate rear shell. A new seamless construction means there are no EPS edges between the shells. The enduro helmet's generous visor is height-adjustable and fits seamlessly into the helmet. Depending on the position of the sun or the slope of the track, it's easy to move the visor up or down to one of three positions. In the highest position, goggles can be parked underneath.

Large vents and 360° fit

For high wearing comfort, the Uvex Quatro Integrale has an integrated 360° anatomic fit system - by turning an adjustment wheel on the back of the head, the helmet can be individually adjusted to the head in terms of circumference and height. Inner padding with embossed ventilation channels sit comfortably and gently on the skin, are quick-drying and can be removed and washed. The 17 large vents on the top of the head are lined with mesh to prevent bugs from entering.

Weight about 330g

Uvex Colorvision Variomatic

Optimum toning for every light and every contrast – the new Uvex Colorvision Variomatic lenses.

The Uvex Variomatic technology: The photochromic lens adapts to the prevailing light conditions and automatically brightens or darkens from protection level S1 to S3. The new Uvex Colorvision Variomatic lenses offer additional protection with the red litemirror lens coating. This reddish-brown coating reflects infrared and keeps it out of your eyes.

Uvex City 9

With the new Uvex City 9, the Fürth family company is presenting its own e-bike helmet for the first time, which even exceeds the new NTA 8776 standard for S-Pedelecs.

E-biking is booming - more and more cyclists are opting for a bike with electric motor support when buying a new bike. The group of commuters in particular is increasingly interested in alternatives to cars and public transport. Conventional e-bikes (up to 25 km/h) as well as faster S-pedelecs (up to 45 km/h) are in increasing demand. However, the higher speeds of e-bikes mean that the demands on protective equipment have changed. The legislature has also recognized this and therefore introduced a helmet requirement for S-Pedelecs in January 2017.

S-Pedelec standard is exceeded

The Uvex City 9 is particularly aimed at commuters who ride their e-bikes every day. For maximum safety even at high speeds, the Uvex engineers have made sure that the Uvex City 9 not only meets the DIN EN 1079 standard, but even exceeds the new NTA 8776 standard for speed pedelecs.

Safety features for e-bikers

For high impact resistance, the Fürth company uses a hybrid construction for the Uvex City 9 with a polycarbonate shell on the inside and a robust ABS shell on the outside. The integrated plug-in LED ensures significantly more visibility at dusk and can be charged via USB. To ensure that the helmet sits securely, it can be adjusted to the circumference of the head using the rotary wheel on the back of the head.

Size: 53-57 cm, 58-61 cm

Weight approx. 440 grams

Colors: warm grey, carmoflage, neon yellow, matt black

Price: EUR 129,95

Uvex Race 9

The newly developed road bike helmet Uvex Race 9 combines aerodynamics with optimal ventilation and safety.

Seamless construction with added protection

With the Uvex Race 9, a seamless double inmould construction meets a light, reinforcing cage – the EPS protective material is foamed directly into the polycarbonate shell for low weight and maximum impact resistance. Partly visible, it also acts as a design element and replaces the webbing hooks in the rear, since the webbing is hooked directly into the cage. Thanks to this special design, the Uvex Race 9 has extremely large ventilation openings with the same stability. For an optimal fit, the helmet can be adjusted in height and width using the 2IAS half-ring system.

Size: 53-57 cm, 58-61 cm

Weight about 285 g

Colors: white, matt black, blue

Price: EUR 249,95
