Product news: Magura is starting the 2019 model year with an expanded and revised portfolio. The Swabian brake specialist paid particular attention to ergonomics and customization. A few days ago we already reported on four different brake levers with different ergonomics. For the new model year, however, fans of the brand can look forward to further innovations.
Magura has every reason to celebrate! The company, founded by Gustav Magenwirth in Bad Urach in 1893, is presenting the limited MT125 on the occasion of the company's 1893th anniversary. The anniversary brake is based on the MT7 with 1-finger HC3 brake lever. The special edition, limited to 1893 sets, comes with a special engraving and twelve bezels in different colors. The MT1893 is delivered in an elegant wooden transport box. The price for the rare copy is 499,90 euros.

Entry into the world of Magura brakes, on the other hand, is much cheaper. The MT Sport has 2 pistons and is characterized by a wide range of uses. The MT Sport was developed for both urban cyclists and all mountain bikers. The entry-level brake is available at a slim price of 59,90 euros.

The MT8 models and the MT Trail SL will come standard with the 2019-finger HC brake lever from model year 1. With the 12 mm shorter lever, Magura promises full braking power with just one finger thanks to the ergonomics. In a new carbon version, the 1-finger carbon lever helps the MT8 SL to weigh just 195 grams. In contrast to the top product, the cheaper MT8 Pro has an aluminum brake lever, the weight is stated at 225 grams. The prices for the brakes are 279,90 euros for the MT8 SL and 179,90 euros for the MT8 Pro.
Also new for the 2019 model year are the brakes with the Flatmount mounting system. Magura offers two models in this regard: the MT8 SL FM and the MT4 FM. Despite the reduced installation space, the standard sizes of brake pads and pistons remain identical. The new Flatmount brakes are available for 279,90 euros (MT8 SL FM) and 129,90 euros (MT4 FM).

Of course, nothing works without a sensible brake disc. In this area, too, the Swabians have something new to offer. The manufacturer promises high braking performance and high resilience with the new two-piece Storm CL brake disc. The brake disc is available with diameters of 160 mm, 180 mm or 203 mm. The price of the Storm CL is 35,00 euros including lockring.
