Product news: The premium manufacturer is expanding the product range with three new Rotor cranks. A special feature is the Direct Mount System, which should cause a real revolution, especially in the road segment. But there is also a new one for other areas of use, such as MTB and track.
Rotor uses the same, revolutionary modular system for all three cranks. This was first used in 2017 in RHawk and RRaptor. Depending on the model, the individual crank arms are available in up to seven different lengths and these can be combined with different axle lengths and bottom brackets, so that they can be adapted to almost any frame or standard on the market. In addition, Rotor offers a large selection of high-quality, round and oval direct-mount chainrings.
The new road bike Rotor cranks Aldhu and Vegast are also designed for Rotor's new direct-mount chainring design, whereby a double chainring milled from the block is mounted directly on the axle to save weight and, above all, without special tools. A novelty in the road sector, because the spiders still rule here. In the MTB sector, the new Kapic Direct Mount crank not only offers a low system weight, but also unrivaled rigidity and variability, so that it doesn't have to hide behind other high-end cranks.
Aldhu 3D+, Vegast & Kapic – The new Rotor cranks at a glance
Rotor Cranks Road – Aldhu 3D+
The Rotor Aldhu 3D+ crank system for racing bikes was created together with the Rotor Vegast crank T and shares the innovative and modular design with it. However, the Aldhu 3D+ was extremely lightweight and, with its crank arms weighing just 182 grams (with a length of 170mm and a system weight with one-piece chainrings 50/34 of less than 600g), it offers extremely high rigidity. The difference: Comparable crank systems from other premium manufacturers are far above the system price of the rotor crank.
Even without special tools, assembly should be completed in minutes and changing the chainrings is just as easy. Thanks to the direct mount system, in which the blades are mounted directly on the shaft without a spider, a standard Allen key is sufficient as a tool. You can choose between the revolutionary combination chainring in one-piece design (chainring combination milled from one block) and single chainrings. Both in a round design or with the oval Q-Rings from Rotor with 12.5% ovality. Alternatively, a direct mount spider can also be used, which enables the traditional assembly of two chainrings with chainring bolts and expands the spectrum even further.
The Direct Mount System of the new Rotor crank for racing bikes allows for the first time the fine adjustment of oval chainrings (OCP) in one-degree increments and thus an incomparable customization to personal requirements. This enables the rider to get the best possible approximation of pedaling efficiency. The crank arms of the Aldhu 3D+ made of the high-strength and very light 7075 aluminum alloy are reworked/hollow drilled with ROTOR's patented Trinity Drilling System and offer a perfect ratio of stiffness to weight.
Rotor Aldhu 3D+ details:
Available in seven crank arm lengths: 150, 155, 160, 165, 170, 172,5 and 175mm
Q-factor: 148mm (rim brake) / 152mm (disc brake)
Chain line: 43,5mm (rim brake) / 46mm (disc brake)
Colour: anthracite/matt
RRP: EUR 249,99 (crank arms)
Rotor Cranks Road - Vegast
The Rotor Vegast crank system for racing bikes was created together with the Aldhu Rotor cranks and shares the innovative and modular design with them. While the Aldhu extremely on weight
been trimmed, the Rotor Vegast scores with an excellent price/performance ratio
and offers all the characteristics of the big brother except for the large variety of crank lengths of the Aldhu.
Rotor Vegast Details:
Available in the classic crank arm lengths: 170, 172,5 and 175mm
Q-factor: 148mm (rim brake) / 152mm (disc brake)
Chainline: 43,5mm (rim brake) / 46mm (disc brake)
Color: black / matt
RRP: EUR 124,99 (crank arms)
Rotor cranks MTB – Kapic
The Rotor Kapic crank system for XC and marathon mountain bikes was created together with
the two Gravity cranks from Rotor and shares the structure with them.
As the currently lightest and stiffest crank system in standard and boost versions for mountain bikes from Rotor, the Rotor Kapic offers the best possible,
direct conversion of power into propulsion. As early as the 2018 launch season, numerous professional drivers switched to the Kapic and were able to achieve their first victories and podium finishes. Assembly is completed in minutes without special tools and changing the chainring is just as easy. Thanks to the direct mount system, in which the blades are mounted directly on the shaft without a spider, a standard Allen key is all you need as a tool. Numerous blades in a round design or with the oval Q Rings from ROTOR offer a choice for riding in any terrain.
The Direct Mount System of the Rotor Kapic enables the fine adjustment of oval chainrings (OCP) in one-degree increments and thus an incomparable customization to personal requirements. This enables the driver to get the best possible approach to optimal pedaling efficiency. The crank arms of the KAPIC made of the particularly stiff 7055 aluminum alloy are reworked/hollow drilled with Rotor's patented Trinity Drilling System and offer an ideal stiffness-to-weight ratio.
That's why this Rotor crank is also perfect for XC and marathon bikers who want a lightweight crank system without complications, with little maintenance and assembly effort and the opportunity to improve pedaling efficiency. Protective covers in seven different colors allow color coordination with the frame and offer further customization.
Rotor Kapic Details:
Available in crank arm lengths: 165, 170 and 175mm
Q-Factor: 164mm with 30mm standard axle / 17mm with 30mm boost axle
Chainline: 49,5mm with 30mm standard axle / 52,5mm with 30mm boost axle
Color: black / matt
RRP: EUR 219,99 (crank arms)
The Aldhu 3D+ as well as the carburetor are already in stock except for a few crank arm lengths. The Kapic is in the inflow.
