What has n't Tony Martin (Katusha-Alpecin) had to listen to or read in recent months? He's no longer strong enough to keep up with the best, too old, and too slow. Today in Einhausen near Frankfurt, Tony Martin silenced all his critics. On the 15-kilometer circuit, which the elite men had to complete three times, he gave the competition no chance whatsoever. With a time of 51:23, he beat Jasha Sütterlin (Movistar) by 62 seconds to take second place and Nikias Arndt by 91 seconds to finish third. This marks Tony Martin's seventh consecutive – and eighth overall – German Time Trial Championship title.

U23: Jasper Frahm prevents a double strike from Max Kanter
In the U23 category, Max Kanter (Sunweb Development) narrowly missed out on a double victory. After securing the road title, the 20-year-old was beaten today by just 38 hundredths of a second. Only Jasper Frahm (Heizomat-rad.net) was faster. His time of 37:07 keeps the championship title within his team. Defending champion Patrick Haller (Heizomat-rad.net) failed to meet expectations this year. He finished a distant 35th. Richard Banusch (LKT Team Brandenburg) completed the podium of the German U23 Time Trial Championships, finishing five seconds behind.

Lisa Brennauer reclaims the title
After the U23 and Elite men had completed their competitions, it was the women's turn. Late Friday evening saw the highly anticipated duel between Trixi Worrack (Canyon Sram) and Lisa Brennauer (Wiggle High5). Both women had won twice. Lisa Brennauer triumphed in 2013 and 2014, while Trixi Worrack had won the champion's jersey in the last two years. Today, Lisa Brennauer secured her third victory with a lead of 18 seconds. Lisa Klein (Canyon Sram) finished third behind Trixi Worrack, but was already 48 seconds back. After that, the gaps between the riders were over a minute.
