Cycling: Tony Martin (Katusha-Alpecin) is German time trial champion for the eighth time in his career. Today, Friday, the 33-year-old duped the competition once again. Jasper Frahm (Heizomat-rad.net) is the new German champion in the U23 class. In the women's race, Lisa Brennauer (Wiggle High5) triumphed for the third time.
Tony Martin was over a minute faster
was hat sich Tony Martin (Katusha-Alpecin) didn't have to listen to or read through everything in the past few months? He is no longer strong enough to keep up with the best, too old and too slow. Today Tony Martin showed all the critics the back wheel in Einhausen near Frankfurt. On the 15-kilometer circuit, which the elite men had to ride three times, he didn't give the competition a chance. In a time of 51:23 he directed Jasha Sutterlin (Movistar) by 62 seconds in second place and Nickias Arndt by 91 seconds in third place. This is Tony Martin's seventh time in a row - and the eighth time in total - the German championship title in the time trial.

U23: Jasper Frahm prevents a double strike from Max Kanter
In the U23 class Max Kanter (Sunweb Development) just barely missed the double whammy. After the 20-year-old secured the title on the road, he was only beaten by 38 hundredths today. It was just faster Jasper Frahm (Heizomat-rad.net). His time of 37:07 keeps the championship title within his team. defending champion Patrick Haller (Heizomat-rad.net) could not meet his expectations this year. He was only 35th with a clear deficit. The podium of the German U23 time trial championship was completed Richard Banush (LKT Team Brandenburg) five seconds behind.
