Product news: Specialized's Turbo Kenevo also in Troy Lee design

May 21, 2018 by Christian Ettl

Product news: It is well known that more style never hurts and Specialized has entrusted the Kenevo to THE designers of the MTB gravity and motocross scene. Troy Lee has also put his hand on the "ordinary" Turbo Levo and it was available in a limited series. So now there is the long-stroke Kenevo with a trendy look. The bike is available for 6499 euros.

With 180mm travel, in the M5 premium aluminum frame, and consistently high-quality and well thought-out equipment, you can really let the gas stand. The frame construction itself corresponds to the Trail 6Fattie Geometry, with a low bottom bracket and extra short chainstays. All cables are routed in the frame, including that of the Command Post IR telescopic support. The battery is fully integrated in the frame and the motor is enclosed in a forged component. The Specialized M1-504 battery comes with an integrated trail display and is ANT+/ Bluetooth® compatible, so you can use your own Mission Control app. The 504 watt hour battery can be easily removed.

The motor, a Specialized 1.3 RX, is said to have 1.1% more power than the 15 predecessor and to work much more efficiently. Specialized sees the motor as the top product ever, thanks to the very high responsiveness of the unit, good heat management and complete decoupling of the drive at high speeds or half the support range. In addition, the engine is quiet and harmonious. The equipment of the bike corresponds to the "Standard Kenevo". We have already presented this:

Specialized Turbo Kenevo – A real e-freerider?

The full suspension travel of 180 millimeters is provided by an Öhlins steel spring damper at the rear and by the potent Rock Shox Lyrik at the front. The 420 percent gear range of the Sram GX 11-speed drivetrain is easily enough for trail fun and the powerful Sram Code downhill brakes decelerate powerfully at all times. There are many perfectly matched to the bike and very well-functioning parts from in-house production used. There are the seat post, the wheels, the cockpit and above all the excellent 2.8 tires.

There will only be 220 bikes in Central Europe, so don't hesitate too long.
