Product news: Sigma Sport iD.RUN and iD.RUN HR: Targeted fitness training with GPS running watches

5. February 2018 by Andrew Waldera

Market: Many ambitious cyclists supplement their training program with targeted running units to increase their fitness. In order to be able to achieve maximum results, as with cycling, it is important to have a targeted training control with training evaluation. GPS watches create optimal conditions in this respect. For beginners and advanced runners, Sigma Sport is expanding the range with the two new running watches iD.RUN and iD.RUN HR.

Running training is the ideal complement to cycling. In winter in particular, ambitious cyclists increasingly rely on running sessions due to the weather. But only targeted training is really sustainable. Training success can be achieved in a more targeted manner with special running watches. Sigma Sport will be launching two new GPS watches from mid-February, which should enable athletes to optimally control their training and evaluate their training. Both training devices record speed and distance via GPS. In contrast to the iD.RUN, which is limited to displaying the most important running functions, the iD.RUN HR model comes with additional heart rate measurement on the wrist. The tedious task of putting on and wearing a chest strap is therefore no longer necessary.

The new Sigma Sport GPS running watches iD.RUN and iD.RUN HR allow an individual arrangement of the training views via different sport profiles. Up to three values can be shown on the large display, with each sport profile offering a maximum of six pages. There are 19 training parameters to choose from with the iD.RUN running watch and 27 with the iD.RUN HR. The integrated activity tracker in both models shows the steps taken, the distance, the calories burned and your personal daily goal. Features of the iD.RUN HR also include quick access to the current heart rate outside of training and the display of intensity zones.

The GPS running watches are operated via four clearly assigned keys. The surface is made of scratch-resistant mineral glass, and the silicone bracelet is designed to ensure a high level of comfort. Both the iD.RUN and the iD.RUN HR offer the runner a variety of options for evaluating the training. The data can be read out and saved wirelessly via NFC with an Android smartphone using the SIGMA LINK app. For a more detailed evaluation in the SIGMA DATA CENTER, we recommend reading out the data on the PC using a USB cable. Both watches will be available in three trendy colors from mid-February. The prices are 99,95 euros for the iD.RUN and 139,95 euros for the iD.RUN HR.
