MTB Olympic Champion Jenny Rissveds has announced that she is terminating her contract with professional UCI Elite Mountain Bike Team SCOTT-SRAM. The Swede has been part of the SCOTT SRAM team since 2014 and has had many successes, including World Cup victories and podium finishes at European and World Championships. The reason for the decision is mental issues arising from a protracted contractual disagreement with the Swedish national team and the death of family members in 2017. Therefore, Jenny Rissveds was only able to compete in a few competitions last year.
“I am very grateful for the years that I got to experience with Thomas and the Scott-SRAM team. They have always supported me and without them I would never have been able to achieve what I have achieved on the bike in recent years. I also want to thank Scott Sports for the never ending support and for always believing in me over the past year. I'd love to stay a part of the team, but you have to contribute to that, but I'm just not able to do that at the moment. It wasn't an easy decision for me, but I think it's better this way for everyone involved and it gives me the best chance of coming back someday, faster and stronger than ever” – Jenny Rissveds
