Product news: professional cyclist meets little speedster – style and sportiness can be found in the special model Brompton CHPT3. The London manufacturer developed it together with one of the most charismatic British racing drivers of recent years.
Former professional cyclist David Millar has opened the third chapter of his career with his brand CHPT3 (“Chapter Three”). From the jaded young star in the World Cup jersey, who was subsequently convicted of doping, the Scotsman changed from 2006 to the hard-working protagonist of clean cycling, wrote a book worth reading about his last year as a professional - and when asked what a former professional cyclist did wears in her free time, draws attention to herself with a small but impressive clothing collection.
Millar has also been a fan of the Brompton folding bike, which is made in London, for a long time – he has already taken part in the Brompton World Championship three times, but unfortunately never successfully. In return, he was granted the privilege of designing a small-series Brompton CHPT3 special model of the London moth – with many special parts such as the red Brooks saddle, fork and rear end made of titanium and very grippy Schwalbe tires and Ergon grips on the straight, low-positioned one handlebars.
The first series of 700 super-light folding bikes sold out immediately; Now Brompton is following suit – the CHPT12 will be available in Brompton shops and specialist retail partners from February 3th. The two-speed model costs just under 2.300 euros, the six-speed version not quite 2.500 euros. For a bike with that certain something that you can take anywhere, not too much...
