Product news: The relatively young German manufacturer Apura, an exclusive brand of ZEG eG, produces cycling clothing for everyday use and for sport. In addition to a good price/performance ratio, special emphasis is placed on sustainable production. Large parts of the collection are not produced in the Far East, but in Portugal.
The name Apura is probably only known to a few cycling enthusiasts at the moment. In our view, however, this is likely to change in the near future. The wide range of clothing from leisure to sporty everyday equipment to performance-oriented road bike and MTB clothing is consistently tailored to the needs of cyclists. With its own design language and, last but not least, attractive prices, Apura should make a name for itself in the near future.
Apura also belongs to the two-wheeler purchasing cooperative, which most people probably know by their abbreviation ZEG. With its BULLS, PEGASUS, HERCULES and KETTLER brands, it is one of the major players on the European bicycle market. With Apura you now also have a brand for the clothing sector in the ring and can benefit from good relationships with suppliers and producers. Advantage for the customer? High quality at moderate prices overall. In addition, great importance is attached to sustainability throughout the entire production chain. The majority of the collection is made in the EU, more precisely in Portugal.
Apura products are only available from specialist dealers. However, thanks to ZEG's dense dealer network, it should be easy to find the nearest dealer - just take a look at the Storefinder on Apura website provides a remedy.
Apura winter season 2017/2018: New base layer ORY, soft shell jackets Pollux and Stellar
The highlights for the 2017/2018 winter season include some new base layer products. Often inconspicuous and invisible, they form the basis for a pleasant feeling during the cold and dark season. Thanks to the flat seams, there is no uncomfortable pressure even when worn for a long time and freedom of movement is also increased. Elastane was also completely dispensed with - why? While elastane has many benefits, it also absorbs a lot of moisture. So if you sweat on the bike, the material soaks up and takes a long time to dry off again. Without elastane, the ORY baselayer shirts from Apura should dry much faster and keep the body warm.
At €22,95 for the short-sleeved version and €29,95 for the long-sleeved version, the new shirts are also affordable for everyone. Variants with strategically placed wind stopper inserts are also to follow in the spring.
Matching outerwear is available with the softshell jackets Pollux (men) and Stellar (women). With an overall sporty but not too extreme cut, it is equally suitable for sporty leisure riders and mountain bikers. The collar is double-layered, the inner surface is roughened. So it shouldn't get uncomfortably cold even at temperatures around the freezing point. All-round reflective elements improve visibility in traffic. The new soft shells are available in stores for €109,95. The scope of delivery also includes a multiscarf in a matching design.
This season there are new bib shorts made of stretchy softshell material for 'downstairs', which is water-repellent on the outside and roughened on the inside and lined with fleece. €99,95 is due for this. The women's trousers come without straps and are €10 cheaper. Both pants use the in-house A3 seat pad, which is optimized for longer rides of more than six hours and has a seat structure specifically adapted for men and women.
