Product news: Truvativ Descendant handlebar and stem now also in 35mm

Product news / MTB: Truvativ is expanding its range of handlebars and stems in the Descendent series for the 2018 model year with various 35mm variants. In addition to a plain black downhill handlebar made of carbon and aluminum, some signature variants and two Troy Lee design handlebars bring color into play.

The 35mm standard for handlebars and stems has been around in the MTB sector for a number of years, but it has not been able to establish itself 100% to date. Nevertheless: The selection of corresponding add-on parts is constantly growing. This is not surprising, because the larger diameter allows the wall thickness to be reduced while maintaining the same rigidity - the result: Less weight with the same or even better rigidity values.

Until now, Descendent attachments have only been available with a diameter of 31.8mm. This will now change in 2018 and the US manufacturer is adding a suitable aluminum stem as well as some suitable handlebars for applications from trail to downhill - in aluminum and carbon.

Truvativ Descendant stem 35mm

In addition to the Direct Mount stem with a 35 mm clamp that was presented this summer, the Ahead stem with the larger dimensions will also be available from spring. Except for its dimensions, it is completely the same as its 31.8mm counterpart: Forged and milled to optimize weight, in plain black and in lengths of 40-60mm.

Truvativ Descendant downhill handlebars

The Descendant downhill handlebar, which is also popular in the OEM sector, will be available in both carbon and aluminum versions from January with a diameter of 35mm.

Truvativ Descendant CoLab Troy Lee Designs handlebars

The Descendant CoLab handlebars in Troy Lee design bring color into play. Available in 760mm and 808mm width, made of carbon and aluminum, there should be something for (almost) everyone.

Truvativ Descendant CoLab Signature Series

From their signature series, there will initially be the handlebars by Jérôme Clementz and Kyle Strait with a diameter of 35mm. While the light carbon handlebar from Clementz is aimed more at trail riders and XC racers, the 808mm wide and 320g heavy handlebar from Kyle Strait is perfect for downhill and freeride use.
