Test: Almost exactly a year ago we found you here already introduced the new 100% Speedcoupe sports glasses. In this test report you can find out whether the glasses were able to meet the high expectations they aroused.
Since I can count myself lucky not to need glasses in everyday life, I often find it difficult to get used to sports glasses. The half-open frame of the Speedcoupe generates a large field of vision, which is not disturbed by a frame. For me, this means that I quickly get used to the glasses and am not distracted by a restricted field of vision. I chose the standard model (STD) for the Speedcoupe. A Short Lens model (SL) would also be available for a rather narrow face.
Product news: 100% expands the range of glasses with the models Speedcoupe and Type-S
Market: The Californian company 100% has expanded its range of glasses with two attractive new models. The 100% Speedcoupe combines style with functionality and is primarily aimed at uncompromising bikers. For trails and leisure, 100% also has the Type-S ready, which should perfectly combine both worlds. Both models are now commercially available. [...]
The individual lenses of the Speedcoupe can be replaced relatively easily with a little skill and practice. The scope of delivery also includes low-light glasses in case the sun takes a break. As promised, the water- and oil-repellent lenses are easy to care for and with appropriate care you can enjoy them for a long time from Dalloz Sunoptics, which has been known for high-quality lenses for over 50 years. The filter lenses promise 100% UV protection and sharp contrasts, with an anti-reflective coating intended to minimize lateral radiation reflections. Depending on the lighting conditions, reflections could not be completely prevented in the test. The contrast is excellent even in changing light conditions. The individual lenses also give spectacle wearers the option of using ground lenses.
Thanks to the Megol-coated nose clip and the rubberized headband, the goggles fit like a glove, which made them my first choice for enduro races and tours in rough terrain.
The ventilation slots in the filter lenses and the design of the glasses, which generates a finger-width distance between the lenses and the face, ensure good ventilation and thus prevent fogging even in wet, damp conditions or when you start sweating.
In addition to a padded glasses case, the scope of delivery of the Speedcoupe also includes a microfibre bag and the low-light glasses already mentioned. Interchangeable lenses are also available in different tints if you want to be optimally equipped for different lighting conditions.
