John Degenkolb

Cycling: The jury of the Tour de France has the Protest by the Trek-Segafredo team rejected. This confirmed the victory of Michael Matthews (Sunweb). Accordingly, in the opinion of the jury, John Degenkolb (Trek-Segafredo) won in the sprint of the 16st stage not unfairly dismissed.

Violence by John Degenkolb remains unpunished

Immediately after crossing the finish line, Degenkolb was visibly angry. Still on the bike, he grabbed Matthews by the neck. ASO event director Thierry Gouvenou said the following to the sports information service sid “Philippe Marien phoned John Degenkolb about the neck grab. The two will discuss this again in the morning.” After the turbulent 16th stage of the Tour de France, there doesn't seem to be any consequences for anyone.
