Lifestyle: In a record time of just six months, the Stoneman Glaciara Trail was realized amidst the largest glaciers in the Alps. At a length of 127 kilometers with a steep 4.700 meters in altitude, the spectacular mountain bike trail leads through the four tourist destinations Aletsch Arena, Bellwald, Binntal Landscape Park and Obergoms Tourismus.

The Stoneman family is growing! After the Stoneman Dolomiti in South Tyrol/Italy and the Stoneman Miriquidi in the Ore Mountains, the Stoneman Glaciara is the third mammoth project in the series. The 5-star mountain bike experience in the Aletsch-Goms/Valais region was created in cooperation with twelve Upper Welsh municipalities and four tourist destinations. The ambitious Stoneman Glaciara project was initiated by MTB professional and former overall World Cup winner Roland Stauder.

Over a distance of 127 kilometers, the Stoneman Glaciara leads along the largest Alpine glaciers and past imposing 4000m peaks. On their way, the mountain bikers roam through Valais mountain villages with ancient village centers. Conditionally demanding ascents are on the program as well as exhilarating trails. The route is divided into three balanced stages, at the end there is a remarkable 4.700 meters of altitude on the clock. Like the other two Stoneman routes, the new trail isn't about beating a timer.

Stoneman Glaciara leads over the Breithorn Pass
You can start and finish at all 19 official Logis partners and at two central issuing offices. Starter packages including a starter card are available at these points from as little as CHF 29. The coveted Stoneman trophy is also presented here. Those who manage the round trip in one day are guaranteed the gold trophy, but the silver and bronze trophies for the two- and three-day tour also look good in their own four walls. The service of the Logis partners also includes a bike wash, bike garage and mini workshop.

The Stoneman Glaciara is a challenge that should not be underestimated and is aimed at bikers with a good level of fitness and driving technique. The Breithorn Pass marks the highest point at 2.451 meters. The completely signposted tour is driven anti-clockwise. The route map is of course included in the starter package. The GPS track is also available for download on the official website. The Stoneman Glaciara Tour can be booked from June to early November.
