cycling: Tour de France 2017 Live: TV program and live streams

June 25, 2017 by Michael Faiss

Cycling: The starting signal for this year's Tour de France will be given in Düsseldorf on July 1st. The range of live images directly from the racing action on TV and on the internet is bigger in Germany this year than it has been for a long time. Three channels broadcast live on television and there is also plenty of choice online.

Tour de France 2017 Live: TV broadcast on ARD and Eurosport

As in previous years, cycling fans in Germany have the choice again this year of following the tour on Eurosport or ARD. What is new is the additional offer of the ARD that the stages are usually shown in full length on the digital channel ONE (formerly EinsFestival). At Eurosport, the usual duo Karsten Migels and Jean-Claude Leclercq entertain the spectators, and ex-tour winner Greg Lemond is at their side as an expert. As in the previous year, Florian Naß commented on the ARD.

Tour de France 2017 Live

What is new for 2017 is that the entire length of the stages is accompanied by TV motorcycles and cycling fans can follow the action live from start to finish. On Eurosport, the entire race is usually shown daily, on ARD the hot phase of the daily stages, usually from 16:00 p.m. Anyone who would like to follow what is happening on the public broadcaster right from the start can do so via the additional service on the WDR channel ONE.

Tour de France 2017 Live: Live Streams

Those who would rather follow the Tour de France 2017 live online than in front of their home TV have a number of options here too. The free live stream offer is new eurosport.de, where after a short registration the TV broadcast can be followed 1:1 in the browser. Optionally, there is of course still the fee-based one Eurosport Player, where, among other things, there will be no advertising breaks. On sportschau.de the stages are also broadcast in full every day. As a treat, there are also 360° recordings of the race and a live betting game during the race.

Tour de France 2017 Live: Follow on mobile and tablet

This year's Tour de France can also be followed on the go. The sports show app available for iOS and Android should be the best choice here. There you can see all the happenings live every day. At Eurosport, live images are only available via the Eurosport Player, which is subject to a fee.
