Product news: New Truvativ Descendant and Stylo cranks made of carbon and aluminum

Market: SRAM subsidiary Truvativ presents new Descendant and Stylo cranks made of aluminum and carbon. In addition to a completely new shape, design based on the Eagle groupset and lower weight, all 2018 cranks come with Eagle-compatible X-Sync 2 Direct Mount chainrings.

Last week the presentation of the new SRAM GX Eagle group made waves, now the subsidiary Truvativ is following suit with the right cranksets. The two assemblies Descendant and Stylo are already known from previous years, but now they each get a completely new crank made of carbon and aluminum. All four cranksets are technically optimized for interaction with the SRAM Eagle groupset, but of course they can also be used with any other drive.

Truvativ Descendant cranks 2018

The cranks in the Descendant series from Truvativ tend to be aimed more at downhill-oriented bikers, although the weight has now reached spheres that some light XC cranks do not reach. There is still no precise information on the weight of the carbon crank, but a total of approx. 600g can be expected here - extremely interesting, also in view of the quite low price. Both cranks also come with the new SRAM X-Sync 2 chainrings, whose special tooth shape not only helps against chain dropping, but also increases the overall tension.

Truvativ Stylo cranks 2018

The Stylo series is a little more moderate than the Descendant cranks: This is intended to appeal to all-rounders and trail riders who are looking for a light crank that is not 0815. The technical data is in many respects the same as the Descendant series: Eagle-compatible, X-Sync 2 chainrings, available in carbon and aluminum and all in all at a really attractive price.

The new Truvativ cranks will go on sale in July.
