Specialized has already presented the first innovations for 2018. Everything new is the motto, even if the models are already known, some changes have been made. In addition to a new, more aerodynamic and lighter version of the aluminum racer Allez and the new edition of the CruX racecross bike, we will also be shown the new Diverge with significantly improved handling properties including a women's alternative.
Specialized allez
With the new Allez you want to set a new standard in aluminum wheels. In addition to the aerodynamic shape optimized in the wind tunnel, the focus during development was on the weight. Equipped with high-quality add-on parts and components, there should be something for every driver without having to dig too deep into your pocket. The Allez uses the new E5 aluminum frame, which promises a stiff bike with race character. The Specialized Allez is even sportier thanks to the top tube shaped like the Tarmac and the lower seat stays.
The Fact carbon fork was also developed based on the Tarmac. In conjunction with the carbon head tube, both the weight is reduced and better handling is achieved thanks to the stiffer and more precise front of the bike. The missing connection between the fork crown and the head tube allows for a noticeable increase in ride quality. Last but not least, the Allez's new geometry allows for better adaptation to pretty much any riding style. The slightly longer head tube and the longer wheelbase guarantee more leeway for all cyclists and racers. While the Allez version for less than €800 is just the right vehicle for beginners, the Allez Sprint Comp will also find something for ambitious (racing) drivers in the €1800 price segment.
Specialized Divers
The new Diverge is for everyone who doesn't want to or can't commit themselves. The "Future-Shock Progressive" system, a cartridge housed in the head tube that provides 20 mm of vertical compliance, is intended to achieve more speed and control on bad surfaces. In addition, there is a much smoother driving experience, so that the journey is much more pleasant, especially over longer distances. With the "Open Road" geometry, which is characterized by a low bottom bracket and a short rear end, you want to create high agility and top cornering, even on gravel. The innovations should therefore ensure significantly improved handling and thus guarantee a lot of driving fun on and off the road. Because with a possible tire width of up to 42 mm, there are (almost) no more obstacles. For the first time, Specialized also has a women's version of the Diverge. The Expert and Comp versions come with a light and stiff frame made of Fact 9r carbon, the other models with an E5 premium aluminum frame, which is only slightly inferior to the carbon racer.

Specialized Crux
With the new development of the CruX, the intention was not to design another touring bike with additional tire clearance, but rather to design a fast, lightweight, reliable and thoroughbred racing bullet. The Crux also uses the exclusive Rider-First Engineered™ construction principle for the first time. The size-specific tubes and fiber assignments allow the new CruX to be significantly lighter than its predecessor, without adversely affecting efficiency and handling. In addition, the seat post clamp, which is two centimeters lower, allows more flexibility in the seat area. In addition, the tires get more space in the chassis, so that even tires clogged with mud do not brake. The race geometry with a low bottom bracket and direct steering behavior predestines the CruX for technically demanding routes. Thanks to the spacious front triangle, the bike can be safely shouldered. Since cyclocross is often associated with dirt and grime, a water- and dirt-repellent finish is used.
