As one of the most successful WorldTour teams, Team Katusha has made a name for itself in the peloton. In 2017, not only are they increasingly relying on German racing drivers, such as time trial world champion Tony Martin, they were also able to win a German sponsor in Alpecin. Nonetheless, Katusha is striving for higher goals and has, among other things, introduced a new clothing collection, which is intended to be just the beginning of the Katusha project.
The Katusha Project - Philosophy and Goals
The Katusha project aims to establish a brand that meets the highest standards and passes on the passion for cycling. In addition to the WorldTour team, you want to make a name for yourself as a clothing line, coffee shop and event and tour operator in the long term. The respective goals should be pursued without compromise in order to be able to offer cyclists high-quality products and services. Each part of the project has its own guiding principle or slogan, if you like.
Katusha ProCycling Team – Race to Win
Katusha Events and Travel – Enjoy your Ride
Katusha Coffee Shop – Ride your Life
Katusha Apparel - Live to Ride
Last weekend at Bikedress in Munich, among other things, the new SS17 collection with world champion and team rider Tony Martin was presented.
The new performance clothing line was developed and tested with the pros from our own WorldTour team. Not only racing drivers should be addressed, but everyone who wants to go faster, further and higher or simply want to achieve their own goals. A special feature of the 2017 collection is the Aero Concept, which claims to make the fastest kit in the entire peloton possible. This seems particularly important given that the racer's attack surface accounts for approximately 80% of the resistance and the wheel only accounts for 20%. Especially in the fight against the clock, one promises oneself decisive seconds. Cycling women can look forward to the same advantages, since in addition to the performance collection there is also a special women's line with the same technologies.
The key elements of the Aero Concept:
• Elaborated rough surface of the fabric on the sides for better thermal regulation
• Smooth surface of the fabric, with linear stripes where the air slides better
• Highly stretchable fabric with good compression to reduce creases and avoid flapping even at high speeds
• No compromises in terms of comfort, breathability and thermal regulation to guarantee the rider's comfort in all conditions
Here is a brief overview of the new products in the SS17 collection in the performance area...
Katusha Commuter Collection
The Commuter Collection is specially designed for all city riders who love freedom of movement. The best performance is combined with style from head to toe. The pros are also out and about in casual leisure clothing before and after the races and can also bring in one or the other suggestion for improvement.
