cycling: 72. Dwars Door Vlaanderen: Quick-Step Floors dominates

March 22, 2017 by Michael Behringer

Lampaert

Cycling: The 72nd edition of the Dwars Door Vlaanderen semi-classic was dominated by local team Quick-Step Floors. At the end of the day there was a Belgian double victory: Yves Lampaert triumphed in front of Philippe Gilbert. The one that left between Roeselare and Waregem Little Tour of Flanders was fought extremely aggressively over 203,4 kilometers. In doing so, Quick-Step Floors perfectly exploited the numerical superiority they had brought about. With a lead of 39 seconds, Lampaert finally came in as a soloist in front of a group of three. There Gilbert made the double victory in the sprint perfect in front of Alexey Lutsenko (Astana) and Luke Durbridge (Orica-Scott).
