Cycling: Almost a year after his serious fall, Stick Broeckx, who is now in a coma, continues to make progress in his recovery. In May last year, the young Belgian collided with an escort motorcycle during the Tour of Belgium and suffered serious head injuries. As his team boss Marc Sergeant told a Belgian magazine, André Greipel's 26-year-old team-mate is still on the mend.
Stig Broeckx woke up from a coma in December after more than six months. At the time, the doctors treating him were surprised by the speedy recovery given the serious injuries. However, they also made it very clear that the young Belgian still has a hard way back to normal everyday life. However, Broeckx shows his fighter nature and seems to be making great progress: He can now follow conversations again, as his former team boss Marc Sergeant reported to the Belgian Humo. "It's incredible - you can talk to him again. He can't answer, but he understands everything."
Keep it up Stig! We wish you all the best.
