cycling: Roglic leads in the Algarve, Hermans in Oman

17 February 2017 by Michael Behringer

Cycling: In addition to the Ruta Del Sol, two other category 2 tours are currently running. HC: The Volta ao Algarve and the Tour of Oman.

At the 43rd Volta ao Algarve, Slovenia's Primoz Roglic (LottoNL-Jumbo) leads the overall standings after today's time trial. He finished third behind Jonathan Castroviejo (Movistar) and Tony Martin (Katusha-Alpecin). He is now 22 seconds ahead of Michal Kwiatkowski (Sky). Tony Martin is seventh, 1:40 down.

At the 8th Tour of Oman, Alexander Kristoff also won the 4th stage. The Norwegian left Sonny Colbrelli (Bahrain-Merida) and Greg Van Avermaet (BMC) behind. It should be exciting in the overall standings tomorrow, because that's when the legendary Green Mountain is on the agenda. Ben Hermans (BMC) is currently five seconds ahead of Rui Costa (UAE Abu Dhabi) and 13 seconds ahead of Jakob Fuglsang (Astana).
